Enjoy free time to explore Brussels at your own pace
Arrive in Brussels, where you will be greeted by your private driver and transferred to your hotel, the historic Metropole Hotel 5* or similar. The rest of the day is yours to relax.
After your breakfast, you will join a tour and start your visit along the magnificent St. Michaels cathedral towards the Ladies church of Laeken, where the crypt of the Royal Family is situated. You will continue along the Royal Residence towards the world-famous Atomium, the Chinese Pavilion and the Japanese Tower. Next you visit the national Basilica of Koekelberg, with its splendid art-deco interior and one of the most imposing churches in Europe, 53 meters above the ground you will have a splendid view of the city.
Back to the city center, you will pass along the column of Congress towards the stately Place Royal, the Sablon district with its elegant stores selling beautiful antiques, and the impressive Law Courts. Then you reach the Royal Palace and enter the European district with the buildings and offices of the European Parliament, the European Commission and Council of Ministers. In the Park of the Jubilee you will marvel at the monumental Triumphal Arch and some excellent examples of Art Nouveau houses. Passing the Royal Park and the Belgian Parliament, back to the city center where the tour ends with a stroll to Brussels beautiful Grand Place. Your guide tells you the history of the unique city hall and the splendid guild houses. You will enjoy the afternoon at your leisure.

Eventually you will follow the Brussels Comic Strip Route, a series of giant comic murals and colorful statues that enliven alleys throughout the old city centre. In addition to this extensive walk past the city’s most luxury chocolate shops where you will taste some of the best sellers (Pierre Marcolini, Godiva, Withamer, Neuhaus) and historical landmarks, we will also tell you where to find the best bargains in Brussels. Free afternoon at your leisure.
This morning you leave the capital by bus. After an hour’s drive you will arrive in Ghent, where you visit St. Bavo’s Cathedral, home of the world famous ‘Mystic Lamb’ painting. During the city tour you will see all the important buildings from the Middle Ages, such as the Belfry, St Nicholas’ Church and the Earl’s Castle. In Bruges, you visit the Lake of Love and the Beguinage. Afterwards you start your walking tour and discover the Church of Our Lady with the statue by Michelangelo, the Market Square with its belfry and the Holy Blood Chapel. Then back to Brussels.
In the afternoon, you will join a typical Belgian experience to taste the legendary beers. Belgium may be tiny, but its beers are big and bold. No country in the world boasts a brewing tradition as rich and diverse. And nowhere will you find the quantity of quality beers that is offered by this little nation. Brussels in particular offers many varieties of artisan brews; each with a different but slightly tart and refreshing flavor. Your beer tasting experience features visiting some of Brussels most typical drinking venues. Specialties are the traditional Brussels beers like Geuze, Kriek but also Trappist beers that come with a creamy white head and thirst-quenching white beers that go down deliciously on hot summer days. Your guide will help you to unravel some of Belgium’s beer mysteries on this tour, giving great details of the different varieties of beer, their tastes and unique attributes. Your guide will also provide you with tips of the do’s and don’ts of the Belgian beers.
This morning, discover the hidden treasures of Brussels, the symbols of several secret societies like Templars and the Freemasons, as well as astronomical, astrological and other ‘esoteric’ mysteries. This voyage of discovery will lead you to secrets, hidden outdoors, but also in churches, temples and underground spaces. Explore the Grand Place in Brussels through different glasses. Find out why this place was built this way, the significance of the figure 7, find out the missing zodiac sign on a building and also explore the history of the Freemasons in Brussels. We will also visit the grave of one of the Freemasons in St Michel Cathedral, and look for a legend in the colorful church windows. The tour will also take us uptown into the park across the Royal Palace, where we discover more signs and the meaning of hidden inscriptions. You will also learn about the hidden city below the Palace and you will also discover the founder of the Templers, Godfried of Bouillon. Visit the bar where the famous Flemish surrealist-painter Magritte had his ideas. Here you will also be able to discuss his vision of art. At the end of the tour, we will let you take part in some real magic! Enjoy your free afternoon.
