Sip wine in Tuscany, tour Venice from the world famous Canals, and skip the lines at all of the major attractions in Rome.
Upon arrival in Rome, a private car will transfer you to your centrally located first class hotel. Check in and unpack with leisure time to relax and then explore this fascinating city.
Meet in the hotel lobby for a small group tour with full visits to three world famous symbols of Rome: the Colosseum, Palatine Hill, and Roman Forum. The tour begins at the Arch of Constantine, one of the largest and best preserved triumphal arches in Rome. From here our guide will take you inside the Colosseum, the main symbol of ancient Rome (with skip the line tickets). Next, visit Palatine Hill, the location of the Roman Forum Archeological Area with skip the line tickets. Discover the House of the Vestal Virgins, Capitol Palace, Senate House, and Triumphal Arches. Your day tour ends inside the Roman Forum. After your tour, you’ll have ample free time to explore the city on your own, or relax back at the hotel.
Meet in the hotel lobby to join a guided small group walking tour of the Vatican Museums and St. Peter’s Basilica. You’ll have skip the line entry with our guide. Marvel at the sight of the Sistine Chapel, the most renowned example of papal patronage during the Renaissance period, which allowed Michelangelo to create his masterpiece, The Creation of Adam, on the chapel’s ceiling, as well as his incomparable Last Judgement on the altar wall. Proceed to the imposing beauty of St. Peter’s Basilica to view the dome, designed by Michelangelo, who also designed the plan of this Renaissance church. Inside is the world famous sculpture, La Pieta, yet another of Michelangelo’s masterpieces and the only sculpture personally signed by him. The tour ends in St. Peter’s Square to view the massive semi-circular Colonnades from the genius of Gian Lorenzo Bernini. You may stay in Vatican City for independent exploring following the tour, or head back to the hotel to relax.
After breakfast, enjoy a private transfer to the Rome rail station for a train trip in first class to Florence. Upon your arrival in Florence, a private transfer or self-transfer to your hotel (depending on hotel choice) will be ready for you. Relax at the hotel after your day traveling.
A morning tour starts with discovering views of the city from one of the most romantic panoramic points in the world: Piazzale Michelangelo – which gives a breathtaking view of Florence and of the green landscape that surrounds it. The tour continues to the heart of the city at the Accademia Gallery to admire the original version of Michelangelo’s David, along with the unfinished I Prigioni, San Matteo, Pieta di Palestrina and other masterpieces. The tour will continue through the historical streets of Florence concluding in front of the Duomo. There, our guide will explain the significance of Giotto’s bell tower, the Baptistery with its golden bronze doors including the famous Porta Del Paradiso, and lastly the Cathedral itself with its inner mosaics. After your tour, you’ll enjoy some free time to explore on your own, or relax back at the hotel.
Enjoy the rich history and art of Tuscany in a single memorable day, which includes a delicious lunch with wine tasting. Drive through the lovely vineyards of Chianti, arriving in Siena while the town is still asleep. It’s the perfect time of day to wander the pedestrian-friendly heart of this beautiful hilltop town. We’ll take a walking tour along the small medieval streets and squares, the spectacular Cathedral, and the Piazza del Campo. During free time, explore Siena at your own pace, then take a short ride to a family run wine farm in the heart of Tuscany for a traditional lunch of fresh, homemade products straight off the farm with plenty of wine from the region. After lunch, we visit San Gimignano, to have free time to explore the town center and the town’s cobblestone streets. From San Gimignano, pass hilltop hamlets until reaching the Field of Miracles in Pisa to see Pisa’s Cathedral, Baptistery and of course the Leaning Tower of Pisa – all exquisite examples of brilliant Pisan Romanesque architecture.
Breakfast and Lunch included
After breakfast, either private or self-transfer to the Florence rail and board your first-class train to Venice with a private transfer to your hotel upon arrival. A Grand Canal gondola ride offers the opportunity to view the city from a completely different perspective and is a VIP small group tour of this city built on water. Admire the beauty and uniqueness of Venice while listening to a detailed commentary by your expert guide. The Grand Canal Boat Tour finishes back at St. Mark’s Square. Upon your return you’ll receive free time to further explore, or rest back at the hotel.
After breakfast, join a walking tour of Venice recalling its charming past. The tour starts in Piazza San Marco with an explanation of the city’s origins, history, and descriptions of the main monuments: Basilica San Marco, Palazzo Ducale, the Bell Tower, and Clock Tower. See ‘the Pantheon’ of Venice, and Marco Polo’s house. Then return to San Marco through the Mercerie, a vital connection between Rialto and San Marco, and the main street for city shopping. In the afternoon enjoy an excursion to discover the islands of the lagoon, including a visit to the famous Murano glassmaking factory. After your tour you will have free time to explore, or rest back at the hotel.
After breakfast, a private transfer will take you to the Venice airport for your flight home.
